4 bangers and 4 banging bails with Halldor Helgason
This week has been a rather Halldor Helgason heavy one. Not that that’s a bad thing of course. First we had the brilliant Pepping! drop – the worthy follow up to the masterpiece that was Sexual Snowboarding. Today we had Halldor appearing in the excellent first chapter of The Nike Snowboarding Project, where amongst other shots you can watch him make it to the end of a a beast of a wooden 12 kink rail in Iceland. Next up we slapped images of him all over our Facebook and Twitter pages as our Issue 104 cover boy (and what a cover it is, if we may say so ourselves). And to top it all off, we have this edit from Hoppipolla: 4 super tech bangers interspersed with 4 bails – one of which is a lot nastier than others.
On the banger side of things we have his massive ‘streetcountry’ double cork, as well as the rail transfer shot that eventually found it’s way onto next month’s Whitelines cover. On the bail side of things there’s only one that really stands out in our minds – the backbreaker at the end of the edit. The lesson to be learnt here is a simple one: if you’re trying nollie backside tailslides, make sure you’re tail clears the freakin’ rail, or risk being snapped in half. Good job Halldor has a rubber spine right?
