Building a splitboard with Niche rider Grant Bowen

3 comments 10:57AM Wed, 27th June 2012

This summer, rather than trying out some new armchair sports, learning to play Moog or taking up ferret racing, why not rejuvenate an old, otherwise redundant, snowboard by cutting it in half, sticking some touring bindings on it and walking it up mountains. Niche Snowboards rider Grant Bowen did exactly that and now has a sweet new splitboard for his efforts. He also had it filmed so that you lot can see how it was done. With a few basic tools, a Voile split kit and a bit of research, Grant shows that it’s possible to build your own splitboard in a matter of a few hours.
