Every Third Thursday – Fly Fishing Snowboard

Season three of Signal’s brilliant Every Third Thursday has officially landed. The first episode sees Dave Lee and the gang wholeheartedly embrace summer, team up with Abel Fly Reels and build a fully functioning, fly-fishing snowboard. As usual the guys go all out with the build, incorporating a complex fish scale die-cut base (which resident hottie Meg skilfully puts together), rainbow trout cork topsheet, fishing net and removable casting rod. Then it’s off to meet with Steve Abel for some finishing touches and some wonderfully enthusiastic fly-fishing.

Of course no ETT would be complete without bringing some snowboarding into the mix. This time it’s Japanese rippers Kazu Kokubo and Yusaku Horii who test out the board at the lake before strapping in and shredding it up at Mt. Hood – fishing net and all. Hugely innovative, massively entertaining and what snowboarding should be about. What a way to kick off season three.

It’s also worth watching this one to the very end for a hilarious, if not slightly sexist line from Steve Abel.
