Icelandic teenager Halldor Helgason has scored a perfect victory at the Winter X-Games in Aspen.

The Rookie of the Year lay down 2 unbeatable scores of 50, beating Norweigen sensation Torstein Horgmo to take the first ever gold for Iceland at the X Games.

With the riders hurling themselves over the 85 foot gap in a jam sess format, the young man from Iceland sealed the deal in the final with his frontside double cork 1080, followed by a backside double cork 1260. With a score of 100, it is no surprise that Halldor declared himself ‘pretty stoked’.

22 Year old Torstein Horgmo secured his silver medal with a huge backside 1260. The Former X Games Big Air Gold medalist of 2008 and fellow DC team rider scored 2 47′s for his runs, giving him a final score of 94. Torstein’s effortless riding can be seen in the video above.

Tristan first stepped on a snowboard at the age of 12, and (despite being a bit rubbish) has made a point of riding as often as possible since. He joined Whitelines in 2009, and writes, shoots, films and edits for both the magazine and the website. Having headed up the team in charge of the Whitelines Buyers' Guide for the past four seasons knows more about the geeky side of snowboard kit than anyone should ever have to know.
