In Good Faith: full movie

I’ll openly admit that I didn’t really get the trailer for this Austrian movie when it dropped a while back. It opened up with a comedy quote from Arnie about wanting to be different, suggesting lightheartedness, but then went all arty-farty and trippy on my ass. To be honest it kind of threw me for a loop. My main gripe was that there wasn’t even all that much snowboarding in it. Needless to say, some of my comments rubbed a few people up the wrong way (in hindsight they were pretty harsh, but c’mon, it’s just one person’s opinion right?) although now that the full length is here I’m in the position to give this thing another chance. At least i’ll know what to expect.

The intro is pretty out there but once the film gets going and you actually have riding shots to compliment the aesthetic elements, you can begin to appreciate what these guys are going for much more easily – and the riding is actually pretty solid. David Struber for one, rips, although based on edits like this one from Dachstein, I knew that already. It just shows that teasers are super important for influencing peoples perceptions of what movies will be like. You wouldn’t watch a horror movie if the trailer for it wasn’t even the slightest bit scary right? If they fail to grab people in the right kind of way, those people are much less likely to come back for the full thing. In this case I was wrong about In Good Faith – sure, I didn’t get the trailer but the full length itself is commendable.
