Following the news that Shaun White just added the no-longer-quite-so-elusive triple cork to his bag of tricks, today is quickly adopting a bit of a running theme.
In last night’s practice session at the WST 6 star O’Neill Evolution in Davos, Switzerland, French Canadian Maxence Parrot stomped the first ever triple cork at a European event. Max got the trick on the third try after ass-checking the first attempt, and coming really close on the second. We reckon this is actually one of the cleaner competition triples we’ve seen so far. Right after Max put this down, and just before the course was closed off for the evening, Sebastien Toutant, who we’re sure rarely likes being 1-upped, also came incredibly close to putting down his own version of the trick. Both guys ride for O’Neill so we’d be willing to bet their marketing guys were going bananas.
All of this is pointing towards the presumption that shit’s gonna get real once the big air actually starts on Friday…
