Motorola smartphone passes the Milton Keynes test

08:32AM Mon, 12th March 2012

I’m sure we’re not alone in popping the SIM card out of our smartphone when snowboard holidays come about, and opting for the classic brick. With less chance of big data roaming bills, buttons you can press through gloves, and a battery that lasts longer than half an hour in cold weather, it just makes sense. However, those days could be over…

Motorola reckon they’ve solved the smartphones-are-shit-for-snowboarding dilemma with their new DEFY model. To prove it, they brought one down to a Parkstrife event in Milton Keynes. Putting it through its paces were Billy “Power of Grayskull” Morgan and Rowan “Adrenaline Rush” Biddiscombe.

Looks like the new handset can withstand snow, impacts, and much dicking about. And as well as landing the first ever triple backside rodeo, Billy’s also pioneered the ‘facecam’…. whatever next?
