Travis Rice on Conan O'Brien's show

02:07PM Fri, 11th November 2011

With his new film The Art of Flight, Lord Travis of Rice has nearly reached Shaun White-like levels of super-stardom. Like the ginger wonder, he now finds himself asked on mainstream prime-time chatshows in the US – like Conan O’Brien’s show here, which is kindof like the equivalent of going on Jonathan Ross before he got himself fired. Although his piss-take of Mark Landivik is kind of funny, Conan’s obviously doesn’t have a clue what Travis and co get up to, but it’s still kind of cool that backcountry riding can get this kind of exposure. Certainly the footage makes for TV that would impress anyone – just check out the expression on the hot blonde bird’s face when she sees Trav escaping that avalanche. Yep, we reckon he’s probably pulled.

Tristan Kennedy

Tristan first stepped on a snowboard at the age of 12, and (despite being a bit rubbish) has made a point of riding as often as possible since. He joined Whitelines in 2009, and writes, shoots, films and edits for both the magazine and the website. Having headed up the team in charge of the Whitelines Buyers' Guide for the past four seasons knows more about the geeky side of snowboard kit than anyone should ever have to know.
