Tyler Flanagan - A Day in the Life

05:59PM Mon, 22nd November 2010

Tyler Flanagan is prodigiously talented. On the Whitelines California road-trip back in 2006, Ed saw him lapping the Mammoth park and wrote: “We saw the future of American snowboarding – a 13-year-old kid called Tyler Flanagan who was busting out insane 900s over the biggest kicker in resort.” Nearly four years later and Tyler is a mainstay of the US Volcom team with a whole host of impressive comp results under his belt, including a third place overall in last year’s Dew Tour. While he’s definitely still a comp kid, you can’t accuse him of just being a park rat. As he explains here he’s just got his first video part locked down, and we’ve seen pictures of him boosting off powder booters with the same easy steeze too. And anyway, if you could ride park this well, wouldn’t you wanna spend a lot of time there? We might just have another Torstein Horgmo on our hands here…

Tristan Kennedy

Tristan first stepped on a snowboard at the age of 12, and (despite being a bit rubbish) has made a point of riding as often as possible since. He joined Whitelines in 2009, and writes, shoots, films and edits for both the magazine and the website. Having headed up the team in charge of the Whitelines Buyers' Guide for the past four seasons knows more about the geeky side of snowboard kit than anyone should ever have to know.
