Watch the Snowboard Matrix

The Oakley Jib Vid threw up a stupid number of sick videos, including the Westbeach/Whitelines effort (which you can check out here) and the winning entry by our friends from Onboard, which you can watch on their website here. But out of all that radness, there were a few that emerged as real standouts in our mind. This one was up there with the best. Richard Prendigast, the crazy genius who created the School Vol. 1 DVD that we featured on the cover of the most recent issue of Whitelines decided he was going to remake the Matrix – but with snowboards instead of guns.

Seriously, this is one of the sickest ideas we’ve seen in a long while. Basically, he’s taken the ‘bullet time’ concept that made the Wachowski Brothers’ name and adapted it to snowboarding. Think of the potential of this though – tricks shown in 360 slo-mo vision. In a few year’s time I wouldn’t be surprised if every big snowboard film company shot some of their best tricks like this.

Shooting this film took around 30 Go Pro cameras, a cameo by Claude from the Urban Knights, and some next level riding from Forum pro Mario Kaepelli. The end product is pretty incredible. “Doubles? I can do doubles?” Rad!
