Whitelines-FBBB Rail Jam highlights from Ski & Snowboard Show

07:02PM Tue, 25th October 2011

Those who ventured down into the snow-themed shopping/drinking/drooling emporium that was Earls Court’s Ski & Snowboard Show last week will have noticed the rail in front of the Whitelines stand. Well, it wasn’t just there for effect. With the help of our friends from FBBB, (who’s stand was just opposite) we’d created a sick setup using ProSlope – the new dryslope surface. And at various stages throughout the weekend, riders came and threw down in loose jam sessions that drew impressive crowds.

With sounds provided by the pumping Snowbombing stand and their Function One Soundsystem, the likes of Atomic rider Lewis Sonvico and the McCormick brothers threw down all manner of technical trickery. And despite having just one rail (and a slightly sketchy one at that!) to play on, there really was some good riding went down. Check out Simon Cudlipp’s switch ups, Ali from FBBB’s nosepress 180-out or Lewis Sonvico’s closing trick. Not bad for a tradeshow stand eh?

Tristan first stepped on a snowboard at the age of 12, and (despite being a bit rubbish) has made a point of riding as often as possible since. He joined Whitelines in 2009, and writes, shoots, films and edits for both the magazine and the website. Having headed up the team in charge of the Whitelines Buyers' Guide for the past four seasons knows more about the geeky side of snowboard kit than anyone should ever have to know.
