Winter X Games Europe 2012 - Shaun White wins halfpipe

01:35PM Fri, 16th March 2012

With somewhat crushing inevitability, Shaun White rocked up and won last night’s halfpipe comp on his first ever appearance at the Winter X Games Europe in Tignes. The ginger wonder threw down a run that was arguably better (certainly cleaner) than his perfect-scoring turn at the X Games in Aspen earlier this year. But while the judges this time round only awarded him a measly 98 points out of 100, it was still more than enough to beat his nearest rivals, Louie Vito and Iouri Podlatchikov.

In fact, he didn’t even need to use his second run, which turned into a victory lap. Such is Shaun’s ability that none of that comes as a surprise really. So what regular White watchers were really interested in whether he’s make another outrageous sartorial statement. Did those leopard print pants make an appearance again? Well, you’ll have to watch the video highlights and see for yourself.
